BEFORE YOU SPECIFY

Bluetooth dimming is standard on the DWS102. In the IWS102 Series it is a specific model, so confirm dimming is included when you specify. Your Keilton+autani representative or the datasheet will confirm the right one.

The IWS102 Series and DWS102 line-voltage wall switches now add dimming control using Bluetooth Low Energy wireless technology, connecting to the Keilton+autani network. The switches install where a standard wall switch already lives, so you gain dimming control without changing how the switch looks or how it installs.

THE PROBLEM

The hardest spaces to control

Small spaces are the hardest to control well. A private office, a copy room, a restroom with stalls, each needs reliable occupancy control, but running new wiring to a ceiling sensor often costs more than the space can justify. Ceiling access, a line-voltage power pack, and added wiring turn a simple room into a disproportionate line item.

The IWS102 and DWS102 solve that at the switch box. Both replace an existing wall switch. No ceiling sensor, no new wiring. That makes them a natural fit for retrofits and any space where ceiling access is difficult or cost-prohibitive.

These are Bluetooth dimming controllers, not wired dimmers.

The four-button interface sends DIM+ and DIM- commands wirelessly to Bluetooth enabled Keilton+autani fixtures and drivers assigned to the same Bluetooth group. The switch’s own integrated relay switches its connected load on and off only. It does not dim that load, and there is no 0-10V wired dimming connection on either model.

What this means when you specify: the loads you intend to dim must be Bluetooth enabled Keilton+autani devices commissioned into the same group. A conventional, non-networked fixture wired to the switch will turn on and off. It will not dim.

The two models are identical except for how they sense a room. 

That single difference is the whole decision.

THE RULE

PIR needs a clear line of sight. If a person could be hidden behind something, specify the DWS102. If the space is wide open, the IWS102 is all you need.

Shared specifications

Both models share the same platform:

  • 120-277 VAC universal input, 6A integrated relay
  • Occupancy and vacancy operation (2-in-1, selectable)
  • Neutral wire required
  • Bluetooth dimming control, four-button interface: DIM+, DIM-, ON, OFF
  • Integrated photocell with daylight hold-off, which keeps lights off when available daylight is already sufficient
  • Configurable time delay
  • Bluetooth 5.0, 100 ft transmit range
  • cULus Listed, DLC qualified, five-year warranty
  • Single-pole line-voltage switching. Three-way and multi-location wiring is not supported.
  • Standard single-gang wall-switch form factor, indoor use, white

Multi-location control is handled wirelessly rather than by traveler wire. Assign two or more IWS102 or DWS102 switches to the same Bluetooth group and they coordinate control across the space. Either switch operates the group, and occupancy detected at either location holds the space on, with no traveler wire, no added conduit, and none of the labor a three-way install requires. The grouping is configured during commissioning through the Keilton+autani system.

CODE COMPLIANCE

Built for code-required spaces

Small enclosed spaces are exactly where energy codes require occupancy sensing. Both models provide the automatic shutoff and manual-on vacancy operation used to meet ASHRAE 90.1 and California Title 24 requirements in offices, restrooms, storage rooms, and similar spaces.

THE ADVANTAGE

More than a standalone sensor

A typical wall-switch occupancy sensor is a standalone device that controls only its own load and stops there. The IWS102 and DWS102 connect to the Keilton+autani Bluetooth mesh network, so a simple switch replacement today becomes part of a larger connected system tomorrow, without pulling additional wire.

That is the real advantage: full occupancy control at the switch, the right sensing technology for the space, and a path into a networked lighting control system when you are ready for it.
