PPA109S as the input dry contact.
The ‘External test button’ wires from PPA109S can be used as ‘Dry contact’ input to the mesh network. Here is how it works:
- Provide power supply to both the normal and emergency power inputs to PPA109S. If this PPA109S is simply used for dry contact input and not for emergency control, then you may connect both inputs to the mains.
- Connects the ‘External test button’ wires from PPA109S to the 3rd party system’s dry contact output, make sure this is a dry contact output, otherwise PPA109S may be fail if, for example, connected to a line voltage to the ‘External test button’.
- Configure the PPA109S
- Upon failure of normal power: this is the action when the dry contact is closed.
- Upon restore of normal power: this is the action when the dry contact is open.
A few typical applications of this include:
- Connect PPA109S to access control systems, so when someone opens a door, the lights turn on.
- Connect PPA109S to fire alarm system so when a fire alert is on, all lights are turned on.
- Connect PPA109S to sercurity system so when an intruder is detected, lights are turned on.
